Irish rockers Fontaines D.C. score the third-biggest U.K. album opening week of 2026 as Dopamine Chamber (XL Recordings) debuts at #1 on the Official Albums Chart, while Jamie Miller reaches the Singles summit with “Babydoll” (Republic Records) in a nail-biting race with Tate McRae.

Dopamine Chamber is Fontaines D.C.’s second chart-topper, following 2022’s Skinty Fia. It shifted more than 70k chart units, trailing only Harry Styles’ Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. (Columbia) and Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love (Geffen) among debuts this year. Chamber is also the fastest-selling Irish LP since Snow Patrol’s 2011 release, Fallen Empires (Polydor). The set doubles down by topping the Official Record Store and Vinyl Albums charts, and three of its tracks reach the singles Top 40: “Marianne” (#12), “Japan” (#14) and “Demolition” (#18).

Elsewhere on the albums tally, Rachel Chinouriri scores her first Top 10, with her second set, I think I spoke too soon (Parlophone), landing at #9. Zach Bryan’s latest EP, Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs (Warner Records), debuts at #11. And Tears for Fears’ 1989 album The Seeds of Love returns to the Top 20 at #19 following a deluxe CD reissue.

On the singles side, Miller becomes the first Welsh artist in 15 years to land a chart-topping U.K. hit. “Babydoll” edged out McRae’s “Housewife” by just 556 chart units after narrowly missing the summit last week. Released in August, “Babydoll” entered the chart at #84 in September, broke into the Top 40 later that month and reached the Top 10 a week after that. Miller is the first male Welsh artist to top the chart in 41 years, following Shakin’ Stevens’ festive 1985 perennial “Merry Christmas Everyone” (Sony). The last Welsh act to score a #1 was Sian Evans, featured on DJ Fresh’s “Louder” in 2011.

Rodrigo’s “expectations,” featuring Chappell Roan, takes #3, while Bryan’s “Lies,” featuring Lana Del Rey, becomes his highest-charting U.K. single to date, at #7. “Lodi When” also enters the Top 40, at #33.

And in an ear-pleasing preview of Grand Theft Auto VI, Justice’s “Flower in a Hurricane,” featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, reaches #31—the French electronica duo’s first U.K. Top 40 appearance since 2006’s “We Are Your Friends” with Simian.

Also on the EDM tip, Irish DJ KETTAMA lands his first Top 40 single, reaching #25 with the Prospa collaboration “Think of You.”
